January 4 (UPI) — George Soros, the controversial founder of the Open Society Foundations, and 18 others, including politicians, scientists, entertainers, athletes, and humanitarians, will receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom, President Joe Biden announced on Saturday.
“Great leaders maintain faith, give everyone a fair chance, and prioritize decency over all else,” White House officials said in an online announcement Saturday.
“These 19 individuals are great leaders who have made America and the world a better place,” the announcement states. “They are great leaders because they are good people who have made extraordinary contributions to their country and the world.”
