Former First Lady Dr. Jill Biden posted a sweet selfie from Super Bowl LIX, where her beloved Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs, whom President Donald Trump predicted would win, 40-22.
Biden, who reportedly scolded Trump with a five-word remark at the reopening of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, is a Philadelphia Eagles fan! As the First Lady, she has shown her support for the team and frequently celebrates their accomplishments. She attended the Eagles’ Super Bowl LII victory in 2018, demonstrating her enthusiasm for the team.
While Trump went on a string of rants online following the game, the first sitting president to attend a Super Bowl claimed the sport had been “ruined” after making a brutal dig at Taylor Swift, Biden took a different approach.
Biden, wearing an Eagles scarf, posted a picture on X with her grandson, Hunter Biden, the late Beau Biden’s son, with the caption “E-A-G-L-E-S!!!”
Despite becoming the first sitting president to attend the NFL’s season-ending showpiece on Sunday at Caesars Superdome, Trump appears to have left the game before the final whistle.
While Kansas City’s poor performance was most likely not the sole reason for Trump’s early departure, it did have an impact, especially since the 47th US president had been rooting for Andy Reid’s team prior to the game.
However, it appears that he left the venue early, just before the final period of play, as Nikki Schwab of the Daily Mail writes on X: “Trump has left the Super Bowl, per pooler @svdate.” In fairness, Dr. Biden also left the @Phillies World Series early, during the no-hitter against the @astros.”
Shortly after his alleged departure, Trump posted about pennies on Truth Social. He wrote: “For far too long, the United States has minted pennies that cost us more than two cents. This is incredibly wasteful!”
“I have directed my Secretary of the United States Treasury to cease production of new pennies. Let’s rip the waste out of our great nation’s budget, even if it’s one penny at a time.”
