Over 30 years ago, the Shiawassee County Fair Board of Directors made the decision to move from McCurdy Park to our current location on Hibbard Road. Approximately 150 individuals and civic groups made this move possible by “purchasing” an acre of land. This “Buy An Acre” program enabled the Fair Board to purchase 127 acres to call our permanent home. A lot has happened since then!
We have grown to become considered one of the premier Fairs in Michigan as well as a very desirable location for off-season events like horse shows, dog shows, rabbit shows, tractor pulls, etc.
We are now at another landmark moment in our history. With the continued growth of our youth exhibits and programming, we need to expand our buildings and improve the infrastructure of our facilities.
We need your help! Join these inaugural Friends of the Fair and share in the excitement of the Shiawassee County Fair for a lifetime.
A $1,000 contribution to the Shiawassee County Friends of the Fair will provide you with two lifetime passes for both gate and grandstand admission. Passes must be in two different individuals’ names. Along with the passes, the Ag Society shall recognize and acknowledge these individuals as lifetime members and all annual membership dues shall be waived.
A $500 contribution to the Shiawassee County Friends of the Fair will provide you with two (2) lifetime passes for gate admission to the Shiawassee County Fair. Passes must be in two different individuals’ names. Along with the passes, the Ag Society shall recognize and acknowledge these individuals as lifetime members and all annual membership dues shall be waived.
What a wonderful gift for friends, children and grandchildren! To find out more about the Friends of the Fair, please contact the Fair Office, (989) 743-3611.
