In the Christmas Eve incident, a woman was arrested and charged with felony DWI death

Lawrence County, Missouri — On Christmas Eve 2024, a fatal crash occurred on Mo-59 south of Carthage, Missouri, killing a man from Sarcoxie, Missouri.

Jennifer Maupin, 43, was injured in the crash. She refused to take a breathalyzer test with the investigating trooper. However, after an evaluation, she was arrested and released to seek medical attention for felony DWI charges.

On February 7, 2025, the Jasper County Prosecutor’s Office filed charges in this case.

  • Felony DWI – causing the death of another
  • C&I Driving (careless & imprudent)
  • Exceeded posted speed limit (16 – 19 over)

There was a warrant issued for her arrest.

On Monday evening, Maupin was in Marionville, Missouri. Details about the arrest are unknown. She was booked into Lawrence County Jail.

The bond for her Jasper County charges is $100,000 cash or surety.

We anticipate that she will be sent to Jasper County to face charges. She also has outstanding charges in Oklahoma in other cases.

Details about the crash can be found in our Christmas Eve article, as well as the Trooper’s Probable Cause Affidavit, which was filed in court.
