The Shiawassee County Bar Association’s Eighth Annual Free Legal Consultation Fair will be held Friday, April 29, from 8 to 11:30 a.m. on the main floor of the historic Shiawassee County Circuit Courthouse. Legal questions will be answered free, consultations will be offered on a first come, first serve, basis. Local attorneys will be providing free 15-minute legal consultations in honor of Law Day.
President Dwight Eisenhower established the first Law Day in 1958 to mark the nation’s commitment to the rule of law. In 1961, Congress issued a joint resolution designating May 1 as the official date for celebrating Law Day. Every president since then has issued a Law Day proclamation on May 1 to celebrate the nation’s commitment to the rule of law.
The Bar Association wishes to thank the following attorneys for donating their time for free consultations: Barb Dawes, Curt Zaleski, Jennifer Peplinski, Rob Ellis, Sarah Bouck, Bob Ashley, Patricia McAvoy, Richard Burlingame, Scott Gould, Pat Marutiak and Lynne Bowne.
