LANSING, Mich. (WJRT) – A woman from Flint died on the scene of a violent crash with two semi-trucks near Lansing on Monday afternoon.
According to Michigan State Police, the 34-year-old lady, who has not been identified, was driving a Toyota Avalon east on I-96 at Cedar Street around 1:40 p.m. when a semi-truck struck her from behind.
The accident forced the woman’s Toyota over the median and into the westbound lanes, colliding with another semi-truck.
The Flint lady was declared deceased at the scene. The 56-year-old Lansing man who was driving the eastbound truck that caused the first incident, as well as the 34-year-old Texas guy driving the westbound truck, were not hurt.
I-96 was stopped in both directions at Cedar Street for many hours as Michigan State Police investigated the collision. Authorities did not know if any of the drivers were inebriated at the time of the incident.
