Five persons have applied to be considered for the next Managing Director of the Shiawassee County Road Commission including interim Managing Director Brent Friess. Two requested confidentiality on their identities, which must be waived if they are selected for interviews. Applicants include Nancy Schneider of Owosso and George Huffman III of the Perry area.
The resumés were reviewed by road commissioners. No action was taken on determining who will be interviewed. The board’s next meeting will be March 10. Dean Welte’s contract as managing director was not renewed in December, then Friess was named interim managing director. He has been with the road commission more than 23 years.
