FIP IRRIGATION SERVICES and the Greater Durand Area Chamber of Commerce (Chamber) held a ribbon cutting at FIP’s newly opened storefront at 1001 N. Saginaw St. in Durand on Friday, May 5. Owner Derek Carroll and his wife, Monica, operated out of their home in Byron for six years before moving to Durand in 2014. The company provides irrigation services to golf courses across the state, and with the opening of the storefront in Durand, local residents seeking irrigation supplies, equipment, and services no longer have to travel out of the county to find sprinkler system parts and equipment.
The store is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and FIP also offers on-site design and consultation services. A full list of the company’s services can be found online at www.fipirrigationservices.com, though the company is in the process of updating the site’s design.
Shown during the ribbon cutting are (from left) Chamber Board of Directors member Lisa David, Chamber Executive Director Kathy Olund, FIP service tech Joe Neumeyer, Monica Carroll, Derek Carroll, FIP officer manager Kelly Clement, Chamber President Yvonne Ryan, and Chamber member Bart Harris, who owns the Bart Harris State Farm Insurance Agency in Durand.
