A SEASON TO REMEMBER – Durand Soccer Coach Floyd Lincoln honored his seniors on Thursday, Oct. 15, after his final home game as coach of the Durand boys team. The Railroaders beat Otisville-Lakeville Memorial 8-1 with a balanced effort that saw everyone contribute.
In addition to ending the regular season with a win, the Railroaders achieved several other milestones this year, including Lincoln recording his 200th win Sept. 1 in the team’s 10-2 defeat of Mt. Morris, and the team’s first-ever win over Goodrich Oct. 10 in the Genesee Area Conference Tournament. The shootout win over Goodrich also won the GAC Tournament for the Railroaders.
The team’s season ended sooner than they wanted, however, as they fell to Perry 2-0 in district action Oct. 19.
