Michigan’s wildly popular county music festival Faster Horses will not be held this year.
In a surprise announcement Friday, organizers said that Faster Horses, which is usually held at the Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn in the rural Jackson area every summer, would be put on “pause” in 2025.
A social media message shared at 5 p.m. on Jan. 31 and posted on the festival’s official website reads as follows:
“Dear Fans –
We have made the decision to pause Faster Horses Festival in 2025.
We are taking the year to make plans for a bigger and better Faster Horses for our fans who deserve the absolute best.
We love our friends at Michigan International Speedway, the community, and all of those all those behind the scenes. While we hope to bring you something in the future, for now we encourage you to keep the community strong and support live music in Michigan!”
It is unclear when and why the decision was made not to hold the event. As of Friday afternoon, the Faster Horses website stated that information about the 2025 festival was “coming soon.”
