Editor, The Independent:
We once again would like to invite everyone to attend the annual Owosso-Corunna Labor Day Bridge Walk! The 12th annual walk will start with registration at 7 a.m. and kickoff at 8 a.m. on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 7, at the Heritage Footbridge near Curwood Castle and next to the Comstock Cabin and the Shiawassee Arts Center in Owosso.
We will proceed along the scenic James Miner River Trail and walking paths to beautiful McCurdy Park in Corunna. A pancake breakfast will be available for walkers in the Corunna Community Center at $6 for adults, $3 for kids.
We appreciate Indian Trails as they once again are providing rides back from Corunna to Owosso at $2 per person. Thank you also to Meijer for sponsoring our shirts! The shirts are available at the walk for $5, 2 and 3X sizes cost $7. All proceeds support upkeep of our trail!
This walk continues to offer an opportunity for you to visit with neighbors, make new friends and experience the natural beauty of Mid-County Shiawassee – all while getting some exercise! We hope to see you there!
