Independent Editor,
This weekend I received a political robo-call message that viciously attacked the character of candidate Caroline Wilson, a candidate for Shiawassee County Clerk in the Aug. 2 primary election.
The robo-call not only claimed Ms. Wilson was a “liar,” but it accused her of “lying” at the Burns Grange Hall “Meet the Candidates Night” on July 19. Specifically, it falsely accused Ms. Wilson of announcing that Honorable Judge Matthew Stewart had endorsed her candidacy, when in reality, Caroline correctly told the audience that retired Judge James R. Clatterbaugh, and retired Gerald D. Lostracco were supporting her candidacy for Shiawassee County Clerk.
Caroline Wilson has run an honest campaign for Shiawassee County Clerk. She is a qualified, experienced, public servant and can be trusted to always tell the truth. Caroline will bring professional and personal integrity to the county clerk position. I’m proud, and eager, to vote in the Aug. 2 primary and elect Caroline Wilson as our next Shiawassee County Clerk.
