Persons can join Peter Carrington, Assistant Curator of the W. J. Beal Botanical Garden at MSU, on a late summer edible plant walking tour of the Harris Nature Center, 3998 Van Atta Road in Meridian Township, at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 16. There is a $3 per person fee due at the time of the walk.

“We will be looking at and identifying numerous edible plant resources common throughout the Midwest, from nuts to cattails,” said Mr. Carrington. “We will also take note of poisonous look-a-likes and how to prepare wild foods.”
