THIS PAST WEEKEND close to 30 Boy Scout Troops, over 200 Scouts, and 100 adult volunteers held an Earth Day Camporee in McCurdy Park. The Scouts gathered from all over and shared the common goal of having fun while completing nature-related Merit Badges, doing Earth Day clean up at the park, and letting Shiawassee County know that scouting is still alive. The Michigan Crossroads Council, Boy Scouts of America provides a variety of youth development and camping programs that promote character, leadership, and life skills to nearly 68,000 Michigan boys and girls.
