THE DURAND Eagles Riders held their 3rd-annual Blessing of the Bikes cross-county motorcycle ride on Saturday, May 19 to benefit Camp Quality, a nonprofit organization in Michigan that provides year-round programming, support and companionship to children with cancer, and their families.
The ride was scheduled to begin early Saturday morning, but steady rain with intermittent showers washed out those plans. After the rain cleared, bikers began trickling in from all over the greater Shiawassee County area. The riders blessed the bikes later in the morning, with the help of Pastor Brian McKay from the Victory Biker Church in Lennon, and proceeded on a mostly rain-free tour of Shiawassee County.
