The Owosso Mainstreet/DDA and Shiawassee County Convention & Visitors Bureau invite you to the Annual ArtWalk Owosso. The event will be held throughout the downtown area on Saturday, Sept. 10 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Owosso’s downtown area will host over 40 artists as this event continues to grow. Musicians will be found around every turn with food and drink specials offered in local restaurants. The Main Street Plaza, located on the corner of Washington and Main (M-21) Street will be the starting point for the event. Complete event maps will be available at the plaza and at participating locations. The plaza itself will feature artists, musicians, sidewalk chalk art, and art demonstrations. A complete list of artists and locations will be featured in the Wednesday Sept. 7 edition of the Independent.

Additional ArtWalk highlights include; ArtBike, which features unique, decorated bikes throughout Downtown Owosso and Westown. The Downtown Owosso Farmers Market will be in full swing with extended hours and activities and will include the 5th Annual Chair Fair. Chair Fair auction will take place at noon at the market. This event benefits the homeless in Shiawassee County. Hankerd Sportswear will be sponsoring a Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest. Chalk artist will be creating their masterpieces on sidewalks all around Owosso.

Curwood Castle Park will feature “Made in Owosso” Exhibition – a once in a lifetime, historic exhibition presented and curated by the Owosso Historical Commission and the Shiawassee Arts Center. The free exhibition showcases many of the manufacturing and retail companies and products that have made the city of Owosso unique over the course of 150 plus years.

ArtWalk Owosso is a unique celebration of local and regional art and downtown businesses and attractions. The collaboration of artists and merchants along with the art and architecture of our beautiful downtown promises to make a great evening of conversations, discovery, happy taste buds and pride for the community many call home.
