Durand Union Station Inc.’s annual Fall Raffle is under way, and the names of supporters who bought tickets are recorded on a board in the window of Dietrich’s Flower Shop, 211 N. Saginaw St., in Durand. Tickets are still available for the depot’s largest fundraiser, which rewards one lucky person with $5,000 in winnings, second prize is $1,000, third prize is $500, fourth prize is $350, and fifth prize is $150. A door prize will be awarded to each 15th ticket drawn.

Winners will be announced and dinner served on Thursday, Oct. 20 starting at 6 p.m. in the ballroom of Durand Union Station. Each $50 ticket admits one person to the raffle party. Ticket holders need not be present to win.

Tickets are available at the depot, which can be found at the end of Ann Arbor Street on Durand’s southeast side. It is open from 1 to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday and Sunday or 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday and Saturday. Tickets also are available from Durand area businesses including Dietrich’s Flower Shop and Shaw’s Pharmacy or by sending a check for $50 payable to Durand Union Station, P.O. Box 106, Durand, MI 48429.

Raffle ticket sales go to support the financial responsibilities and mission of DUSI, which includes the preservation and operation of the Durand Union Station and the Michigan Railroad History Museum, engaging and educating the community through the celebration of railroading, its past, present and future.
