THE SHIAWASSEE COUNTY DEMOCRATIC PARTY christened its new headquarters Monday, Sept. 26 by holding a presidential debate watch party, and the group held its first monthly meeting in the building the following night. The group usually rents a space every four years, and often every two years, for two to three months during election season, and this year’s headquarters is located on the northeast corner of M-21 and N. Saginaw St. in Owosso. The office is open weekdays from 3 to 6:30 p.m., and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Party representatives talked during the Tuesday meeting about needing volunteers to phone bank and go door-to-door in the lead-up to the November election, with Democratic candidates fighting for seats in close county and national races. For persons interested in volunteering or picking up campaign signs, the phone number to the office is (989) 720-DEMS. (Courtesy Photo)
