TEAM FRIDGEBOT – The Corunna Robotics Team 5084 competed at the Kettering University FIRST Robotics district competition March 4 and 5, and the team came away victorious. The team competed in the game of Stronghold, where three teams compete against another group of three teams, called an alliance. Teams score points by crossing their opponents’ defenses and shooting balls (boulders) into the other alliance’s castle.

After the 80 qualification matches, FridgeBot placed 25th out of 40 teams. The team was then drafted into the playoffs by the third place team. FridgeBot fought hard as the alliance advanced its way to the top of the rankings, and ultimately won the event, with the help of Team 70 (More Martians) and Team 4386 (Benzene Bots). FridgeBot now plans to attend the Lansing event at Mason High School from March 24 through 26.
