The Shiawassee County Board of Commissioners’ Finance and Administration Committee, during its 4:15 p.m. Monday, Aug. 17, has an agenda item to “Consider hiring a part-time County Coordinator at a Pay Grade 8 on the Rye Salary Scale with a salary of $27,604-$33,772 with no fringe benefits except those required by law effective Jan. 1, 2016.”
Also, the agenda includes “Consider setting the Senior Citizens Services Millage at (amount to be decided) to be levied Dec. 1, 2015.”
Another item will be to “Consider contracting Phillip Hathaway to develop Phase 1 of a Parks & Recreation Master Plan using $5,508 from the $15,000 previously authorized by the Board of Commissioners with future funds to develop a more comprehensive Parks & Recreation Master Plan utilizing future Waste Management contributions.” Hathaway worked for the county 40 years ago as the County Planner before going to the city of Owosso, which he retired from. He has his own consulting firm.
All of the items reviewed in committees during the first part of the week are to go to the Committee of the Whole at 4 p.m. Wednesday, then could go to the board meeting at 4 p.m. Thursday for action. Meetings are all in the Board of Commissioners Chambers at the Surbeck Building, 201 N. Shiawassee (M-71), downtown Corunna.
