The 2015 Owosso-Area Community Choir will begin rehearsals 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Oct. 12, at Northgate Wesleyan Church, 1687 N. M-52, Owosso.

Individuals who have previously sung in the volunteer choir, plus additional new members, are invited to participate in the 2015 Community Thanksgiving Service’s Community Choir. Organized in 1998, the Community Choir includes singers from more than twenty area churches.

The Community Thanksgiving Service will be 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22, at the Owosso Middle School auditorium. This is an annual event, sponsored by the Owosso-Area Ministerial Association. “Area churches gather together in unity to celebrate God’s goodness,” said choir director Lynn Webster. “While we respect individual denominations, we also recognize that we are part of the larger body of Christian believers. This program brings area Christians together as a tangible evidence of God’s universal family.”

Choir members will receive the music and a learning CD at the first rehearsal; there is a $20 cost for materials. According to Webster, “The CD is what makes the choral presentation do-able. With just six Monday night rehearsals and one final production walk-through, listening to the practice CD allows members to familiarize themselves with the music, to immerse the message of the music into their subconscious, and thoroughly learn the music. We’re not looking for professional singers, just dedicated individuals who enjoy singing together and are willing to share their praise and testimony with our community.” Individuals needing additional information can contact Lynn or Diana Webster, (989) 723-1288.
