Community Cats of Owosso will be hosting a cat shelter making class Sunday, Jan. 24 from 1:30 to

3 p.m. at Owosso City Hall. The event will be held in the lower level, which can be accessed from the parking lot behind the building. The class and materials are free but are limited to 15 people. Participants are asked to register by calling (989) 723-0064. Materials for two types of shelters, styrofoam and plastic totes, will be available along with straw. Participants are encouraged to bring their own styrofoam boxes or plastic totes as well. “It has become very cold and our community cats need some protection from the elements. If you have community cats in your neighborhood, please consider building a shelter for them,” said event organizer Lori Bailey, Owosso City Council member and affectionately known locally as “The Cat Lady.”
