Capital Area Community Services, Inc. is taking applications for the Commodity Supplemental Food Program, which provides nutritious food, on a monthly basis to low-income residents of Shiawassee County who are 60 years of age or above. They may be eligible if they meet 130 percent of the Federal Poverty Guidelines and live in Shiawassee County. For a one-person family, the maximum annual income is $15,301; for a two-person family, $20,709; for a three-person family, $26,117; for each additional family member, add $5,408 to the maximum annual income.

The food distribution for Shiawassee County will be 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, at Perry City Hall, 203 W. Polly Street, Perry; then 11:30 a.m. to

12:30 p.m. at the Durand Eagles, 5230 S. Durand Road, east of Durand. Following that, food will be available 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. Aug. 5 through 14 at the Capital Area Community Services, 1845 Corunna Avenue (M-71), between Owosso and Corunna.
