The Children’s Community Theatre will debut its next production, Pocahontas, at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 21 at the Perry High School auditorium. The production will then be shown at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, March 22, and at 1 and 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 23.

   Tickets for the evening showings are $10 per adult and $8 per child. However, children will be admitted to the 1 p.m. matinee showing on Saturday, March 23 for only $5. Tickets can be purchased at the door or online, at www.childrenscommunitytheatre.com, or by calling Bobbi at (989) 534-1348.

   The play was written with the purpose of highlighting Pocahontas as the peacemaker who encouraged friendship between the natives and colonists of her time. It is a neat opportunity for children to learn how to love their neighbor dispute their differences. In addition to the production, there will also be a contest for the theatre kids called “Win Your Class a Field Trip,” which involves them answering the question, “Pocatontas is a hero because…” The winner will win a field trip for their entire class to attend the Saturday matinee performance. There will also be a raffle for a hand-made basket that is valued at $85.

   The Perry High School auditorium is located at 2555 W. Britton Rd. in Perry.
