Child-oriented Activites at Owosso Oktoberfest

THE THIRD-ANNUAL OKTOBERFEST brought people from all over the region into Owosso, with festival-goers traveling from states such as Massachusetts, Iowa, and Illinois, among others, for this year’s three-day event. Organizers tried to provide activities for people of all ages, including such child-oriented activities as pumpkin carving, pumpkin bowling, and bounce houses.

Corunna seventh-grader Fletcher Johnson tried his hand Pumpkin Bowling Saturday afternoon, and the first-timer showed a knack for the unusual activity by knocking down all the pins on his first try. Accompanying Fletcher were his mother, Samantha Rojas, and father, Brian Rojas, along with the family’s Spanish exchange student, Xavier Pincent-Sanns. Leandra Leppek of the Elite Early Learning Center volunteered her time to introduce the youngsters to pumpkin bowling Saturday afternoon. (Independent Photo/Graham Sturgeon)
