The book discussion group of the Durand Memorial Branch of the Shiawassee District Library will discuss the book “Round Ireland with a Fridge” by Tony Hawks at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 26. Book lovers are welcome to join the informal discussion.

Tony Hawks book is a collection of his true stories of hitchhiking around Ireland with the kitchen appliance as his companion. The trip started as a bet after an evening in a pub in 1997, and includes tales of his adventures and the people he met and as he traveled through the countryside.

The book group has selected discussion books for future meetings: “Jane and the 12 Days of Christmas” will be discussed at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 30, and “The Invention of Wings” will be discussed at 4 p.m. Monday, Jan. 25.
