BONDING QUESTIONS for the Nov. 3 special election, $49.5 million for the Owosso School District and a $16.5 million bond extension for the Corunna School District, were outlined by Owosso Schools Sup’t. Dr. Andrea Tuttle (left) and Corunna Schools Sup’t. Dave Moore Tuesday during the Shiawassee Regional Chamber of Commerce Chamber A-M meeting at the Owosso-area Big Boy.

The Owosso Schools proposal for a Middle School addition and renovations to Owosso High School which was turned down by voters in February was changed with the elimination of a second pool for the High School. It does include the addition of a 1,000-seat auditorium on the front side of OHS, security upgrades and air conditioning for all buildings, including elementaries. A 5.5 mill property tax increase is needed for the 30-year bond.

The Corunna proposal is the same one which voters turned down on the May 5 special election. It involves an addition to Elsa Meyer Elementary, work at all buildings, security changes including to parking lots and energy efficiency work. (Independent Photo/BILL CONSTINE)
