Art Gone Wild at the Shiawassee Arts Center will soon be held for kindergarten through third graders on July 12 through 14, 1 to 5 p.m. and on July 19 through 21 for 4th through 8th grades. Both weeks of art camps will include the same multi-media projects with various artist/instructors.
“Out of this World Space Creature,” acrylic paintings with Gwen Sutton. “On Safari,” with Susan McGuire. Children will be able to paint a zebra, giraffe, lion, elephant, or hippo in the African landscape using pastels. “Story Journal Writing and Illustrating” with Mary Morgan. Morgan is the author of a series of national park mystery books for children. “Gel soap Resist Acrylic Painting” with Sue Newcom. “Functional & Fun Mugs with Mud & Whimsical Pinch Pot Creatures” with Linda Ruehle. A few painting projects will be held outdoors if weather permits. Students are encouraged to dress for mess and fun.
The cost for a three-day camp is $70 for SAC members or $80 for non-members which includes all art materials. An annual student membership is $15.
