OVER 400 BACKPACKS with assorted school supplies were handed out to those in need during the Angel’s Hands Outreach Bentley Park event on Saturday, Aug. 24. Included in the event were free pizza, give-a-ways, kids activities and more. Multiple groups were on hand to assist people in connecting to important community resources. New Hope Pentecostal Church of God from Perry, Wildfire Ministries from Morrice, Shiawassee Right-to-Life, the Pregnancy Resource Center and many other groups and nonprofits were on-hand to help out.

Circuit Court Judge Matt Stewart’s Drug Court participants had volunteered to help, as well – a boon for the afternoon since hundreds of area people had come to Bentley Park, needing help prepping kids for school.

Christial Sierra is the organizer/coordinator behind Angel’s Hands Outreach, which is located in Westown Owosso. Along with the “free” store she runs for those in need, Sierra extends her philanthropy to a number of homeless people living in the Westown area, providing them with food and various basic items.
