Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman has missed the most Senate votes this year, according to a recent report.
According to nonpartisan GovTrack.us, the left-leaning Zeteo reported that Fetterman, a Democrat, missed 18 of the Senate’s 98 roll-call votes in January and February, eight more than any other Senate colleague.
According to GovTrack, Fetterman has missed 18.4% of Senate votes in 2025. Zeteo reported that 11 of the 18 missed votes happened on Thursdays.
When questioned by a Zeteo reporter about the missed votes, Fetterman replied, “I am devastated by your inquiries,” without providing an explanation.
A Fetterman spokesperson did not respond to PennLive’s inquiries regarding the missed votes.
According to GovTrack, Pennsylvania’s new GOP Sen. Dave McCormick has not missed any of the 98 votes cast this year.
Zeteo mocked Fetterman by mentioning that he made time to visit then-President-elect Donald Trump in Florida in January and meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during his February visit to Washington, D.C.
Fetterman’s strong support for Israel, as well as his votes for several of Trump’s controversial cabinet nominees, have enraged many left-wing activists.
Zeteo also compared Fetterman’s 230-mile “commute” between Washington, D.C., and his home in Braddock, near Pittsburgh, to the 2,826-mile journey that Hawaii’s Democratic senators Mazie Hirono, who has not missed a vote, and Brian Schatz, who has missed one, must make.
Fetterman ranked fourth in voting absences during the previous 118th Congress, missing 21.2% of the session, according to GovTrack.
Fetterman had a stroke in May 2022 before winning the Senate seat that November, and he was hospitalized for several weeks in 2023 while receiving treatment for depression.
