A patient died after jumping out of a window at Henry Ford Hospital; the under investigation

A patient at Henry Ford Hospital died earlier this week after jumping out of a fourth-floor window.

The incident occurred Monday at Henry Ford Hospital, located on Grand Boulevard in Detroit, around 6:30 a.m.

The 35-year-old patient climbed out of bed, broke a window, and jumped. He crashed in the hospital parking lot and was pronounced dead on the scene.

According to sources familiar with the incident, the patient was in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) when the incident occurred, and a patient sitter was present.

According to a spokesperson from Henry Ford Health,

“We are heartbroken over the tragic incident that occurred on the Henry Ford Hospital campus. We offer our heartfelt sympathies to everyone affected.

Every day, our team members work tirelessly to ensure the safety of our patients. Our number one priority will always be their and our patients’ safety.
