Man Shot Dead by Police After Walking Into Traffic With Knives in Michigan

A man walking the wrong way on a busy Michigan highway while carrying knives was shot and killed by police after he posed a threat to public safety. The incident happened around 4 p.m. and is now under investigation by Michigan State Police.

Man Walked Into Oncoming Traffic Holding Knives

The Ingham County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement posted on Facebook that they received several calls from people who saw a man walking against the flow of traffic on the highway. Witnesses said he was stepping in and out of lanes, creating a dangerous situation for drivers.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found the man holding several knives. Police say they tried to calm him down and de-escalate the situation, but the situation quickly became dangerous.

Officers Forced to Open Fire
