Every month, thousands of checks are sent to retired Americans by the Social Security Administration. However, it also sends other types of checks, like Supplemental Security Income, in addition to retirement checks.
In actuality, both checks are available for recipients, though not all US citizens who wish to do so will be able to do so.
Additionally, only one of these two checks may be issued. However, we will have a check for up to $967 on one hand and another for up to $5,189 on the other if we are qualified to receive both in a matter of days.
Nevertheless, since the amount of one benefit is dependent on having a low income, it is not possible to receive the maximum payment of both benefits.
But regardless of the amount we receive from both checks, if we are eligible for both we will be able to receive these Social Security payments next week. The first week of April includes the 1st and 3rd and on these days the first Administration payments of the month will be made.
Who will get two Social Security payments in April?
We may receive only the SSI check and then receive Social Security throughout the month, even though we find that we will receive two Social Security payments in the first week of April for both retirement and SSI. Checking all of the payments on the checks for April is a good idea in any case.

In light of this, we are able to receive the following two payments in the first week of April 2025:
Date | Payment Description |
---|---|
April 1st | Payment of Supplemental Security Income (SSI) for all beneficiaries of this benefit. |
April 3rd | Payment for Social Security retirees who have an accepted benefit from before May 1997. |
Keep in mind that if you want to receive your Social Security check the same day it is sent, you must have Direct Deposit enabled. We will have to wait a few days before we can finally see the benefit money in our checking account if we do not have this collection method enabled.
In this regard, since it typically takes up to three days for the money to appear, we won’t be able to see the Social Security payment without Direct Deposit until the second week of April. Although everything will rely on our bank, it might show up over the weekend.
This also applies to the SSI payment. Regardless of the amount we receive from either payment, everything will rely on our bank and the collection method we have chosen.
