Suspect Jesus Esteban Arellano is apprehended following a vehicle chase, and a missing Texas teen is found safe in St. Johns County.

A missing Texas teenager has been found safe, and a suspect has been apprehended in St. Johns County, according to a local sheriff’s office social media post. The 16-year-old girl had been reported missing, and her recovery was part of a bigger police operation to arrest 19-year-old Jesus Esteban Arellano, who had outstanding warrants for multiple crimes of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in Texas.

Deputies used Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT) to apprehend the suspect following a vehicle chase. Last Saturday, the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office claimed that an urgent situation had been resolved, resulting in the return of the missing child and Arellano’s detention.

The chain of events began when officers discovered a car in Durbin Pavilion’s parking lot, indicating a link between the missing child and Arellano. When the car tried to depart the scene, officers had to immediately perform the PIT maneuver to bring the chase to an end.

Following his arrest, it was discovered that Arellano not only had warrants from Texas, but also faced additional charges such as fleeing law enforcement and providing a false identity.

In light of the circumstances, Arellano was arrested and will now face numerous legal challenges. Beyond the existing Texas charges, he was further charged by the deputies with fleeing or escaping law police, providing a fake identity, and driving a motor vehicle without a driver’s license, since Arellano had never been given one.

This collection of exacerbated legal challenges will most certainly extend his interaction with the court system over state boundaries.
