Hon. Ward L. Clarkson, Chief Judge of the 35th Circuit Court, announced today that he has appointed Mrs. Kristy Bray as the Shiawassee County Friend of the Court. Mrs. Bray comes to Shiawassee County from the Friend of the Court in Macomb County, where she was a Judicial Service Officer.

In her new position, Mrs. Bray will direct the Friend of the Court office, the collection, enforcement, and investigative arms of the Circuit Court in the area of domestic relations. The Friend of the Court provides mediation services to settle parenting time disputes; enforces custody, parenting time, and support orders; and makes recommendations to the Judges based on the best interests of the children.

“I am excited to start this new challenge in Shiawassee County,” said Mrs. Bray. “I look forward to working with the Court and helping families navigate their cases.”

“Kristy has a range of experience that will make her a valuable asset to Shiawassee County,” said Chief Judge Ward Clarkson. “But just as important as her resume is her enthusiasm for public service.” In announcing the appointment, Chief Judge Clarkson also cited Mrs. Bray’s service with other Friend of the Court offices. In Bay County, she was a Family Mediator. In Saginaw County, she worked as a Referee, a Staff Attorney, and a Michigan Works Attorney.
