With Spring upon us, City of Perry residents are reminded of a new ordinance affecting disposal of yard wastes. In accordance with Ordinance No. 326 Sec. 1080.2, approved March 5, 2015, by the Perry City Council: mixed yard waste must be placed in a disposable paper yard waste bag at the curb for the DPW crew to pick up and dispose of; bags may not weigh more than 35 pounds; plastic bags for yard wastes are prohibited.
The city vac truck and chipper will continue to be utilized to pick up branches/twigs, leaves, and lawn clippings if those items are carefully separated and put in completely different piles.
Remember, the indicated piles must not have any other matter in them. Paper refuse bags are available locally.
