The summer Wednesday night concerts will soon begin in Durand for their 15th year on July 6 at 7 p.m. First to perform will be, “The Clarkstons,” sponsored by Durand Rotary Club, XYZ Landscaping, Graff Chevrolet, and Diesler Electric. “Durand has been a special concert for us for years,” commented Tess Clarkson, who plays keyboard, guitar and is the lead singer. She performs with Paul Ojibway on keyboard and saxophone, lead guitarist Bill Fuller, Mike Rossetose on drums and Jack Clarkston on the fiddle. The band is currently the back up band for the Motown Superstars, as well as Martha and the Vandella’s this summer.
The band “Toxic” will lead you back into the late 80s on Wednesday, July 13, sponsored by Bart Harris State Farm, Dr. Jason Carlson- DDS, Sobak’s Home Medical, and Lennon Telephone/TVC Cable. “Fairlanes & Devilles” will perform on July 20, sponsored by Shaw’s Pharmacy, Dr. R. Tirtha- DDS, Ace Hardware and Blackmore Rowe Insurance. “Fox Driver” on July 27, sponsored by Sagelink Credit Union, Nick’s Home Town Grill, C2AE, Allstate Insurance – Christi Johnson, and Dutch Hollow Golf Course and the “Pole Barn Rebels” on Aug. 3, sponsored by Riverside Market, Durand Lions Club, Iron Horse Pub, Independent Newsgroup, i-60 Media, and Randy Wise Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep.
The concerts are all held on Hagle St. near the Sandula Clock Tower. Alternative rain location is at Optimist Park. Admission is free.
