LEADING THE WALK on Saturday, Feb. 27 for the 26th Annual Capital Area Community Services Shiawassee County Access Center Walk for Warmth, which stepped off from and ended back at the Shiawassee Council on Aging in downtown Owosso, were members of the Youth Advisory Council. YAC members have participated in Walk for Warmth for a number of years. In all, this year’s 87 walkers raised $6,322. The walk raises funds to provide heating assistance to those in need. It is held in February, when it is cold, to stress the necessity of staying warm in your home and to remember those who do not have the resources to provide a necessity of life.
