Two-dozen musicians are returning to their hometown of Durand. on Saturday, Aug. 26 to perform a benefit concert to raise funds to help complete construction of Durand’s Veterans Memorial Park project. The musicians are donating their time, talents, and energy to perform an evening rock concert of 1970s-era music to help honor area veterans. The Veterans of Rock “N” Roll Concert will feature music from the Allman Brothers, Van Morrison, Joe Cocker, The Doobie Brothers, Steppenwolf, and others from the era. The evening event will also have a patriotic theme and recognize all active duty service personnel and veterans in attendance.

Concert tickets are $15, with all proceeds benefitting the project. Tickets are available online at bit.ly/veteransofrock and can be purchased from Durand area merchants. Gates open at Optimist Park, 94 E. Naldrette St. in Durand, at 5 p.m., and the music will begin at 7 p.m. Food will be available on site.
