Tri-Mer Corporation, an air pollution control systems manufacturer located in the Owosso Southeast Industrial Park, is the Shiawassee County winner of the 2015 I-69 Thumb Region Exporter of the Year award.
Multiple businesses from across the region – which includes Genesee, Lapeer, Huron, Sanilac, St. Clair, Shiawassee and Tuscola counties – were recently recognized with this honor at the fourth annual I-69 Thumb Region Summit at the Holiday Inn Gateway in Flint. Approximately 130 business, civic and education leaders attended the event.
“We have experienced significant job and facility growth in Owosso in recent years, in part due to our increased sales around the world. Thanks to the I-69 Thumb Region for recognizing our efforts with this award, we are very appreciative,” said company President John Pardell.
“Tri-Mer Corporation is truly a deserving recipient, with their products being shipped to countries all over the globe, including Canada, Mexico, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Columbia, Ecuador, Peru, Uruguay, Venezuela, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Singapore, South Africa, Turkey, Egypt, Malaysia, South Africa and Thailand. In turn, this is helping to create quality jobs and investment right here in our community. Thanks for their continued commitment to Owosso and Shiawassee County,” said Shiawassee Economic Development Partnership President/CEO Justin Horvath.
The I-69 Thumb Region is a partnership of the Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce, Shiawassee Economic Development Partnership, Lapeer Development Corporation, Economic Development Alliance of St. Clair County, Sanilac & Huron County Economic Development Corporation and Tuscola County Economic Development Corporation.
