The Nov. 7 sold-out annual 300 Club Sports Party & Raffle, held at the new D’Mar Banquet and Conference Center “saw another fantastic crowd,” said organizers. “This is the only event that brings together the Corunna Athletic Club, The Owosso Sports Boosters and the Rotary Clubs of Owosso and Corunna. It was a fun night of entertainment including a corn hole game between Corunna and Owosso. Owosso’s Dallas Lintner and Jeff Phillips won the completion against Corunna’s Nikki Norris and John Fattal.”
This year’s lucky winner of the $2,000 Grand Prize was Jason Schemenauer and the Corunna Boys Basketball Program.
Other top winners were: $400 each, Dave Moore, James D. Smith, Don Galesk; $300 winners included Trudy Schneider, Matt Van Epps, Tim Gilbert, Kori Shook. Winning $200 each were Joe Petersen, Dallas Lintner, Hartmann Aue, Kelly Batchelor, Joe Sawyer, Mechelle Nelson, Bob Zachar, Nikki Norris. Winning $125 each were Roger Fosler, Heidi White, Karen Michalec and Brian Begole.
One-hundred dollar winners were Shane Nelson, Teresa Phillips, Rick Fleming, Margaret Snow, Phil Gobel, Rick Fleming, David Hood, Patty Kazen, Susan Huska, Paul Schluckebier, David Venne, Joellen Smith, Roger Seelye, Robert Hinojosia, Bruce Raymond, Sgt. Daniel Cook, Brenda Sharp, Tracy Minarik, Steve Irelan, Joe Sawyer, Bob Zachar, Jorri Tremain, Josh Dewley, John Miller, Kelly Jackson and Matt Hebekeuser. For those that were not available to pick up their check at the event, as the saying goes “The check in is the mail.”
“The 300 Club Sports Party & Raffle committee is happy to report that this year’s fundraiser was a smashing success and pay outs were up from last year,” it was stated. “Members from the Owosso Sports Boosters, The Corunna Athletic Club and the Rotary Clubs of Owosso and Corunna gathered Monday, Nov. 23, to receive their share of the proceeds. The event netted $22,962 and each of the three groups received a check for $7,654.
“The event included a huge silent auction, games of chance, a 50/50 drawing and $10,000 worth of prize money was awarded throughout the evening. Proceeds from the event have gone toward: student scholarships, bleachers, sport uniforms, sport equipment, plaques and awards, pitching mound, sport programs, track timers, banquet donation to various sports, soccer nets, popcorn machines, food for concession stands, Rotary exchange students and so much more. It is all about the kids and 100 percent of this money stays right here and supports our Owosso and Corunna student athletes and exchange students.

Next year’s event is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 5, at D’Mar Banquet & Conference Center.
