DURAND UNION STATION (DUS) again put on it traditional Christmas event on Friday, Nov. 24 following the Durand Light Parade. After riding in the parade, Santa then made his way to the Depot, where he spent the rest of the evening greeting and visiting with children. The Depot was decked out in all the splendid holiday beauty it is known for, and some of the many Depot volunteers and Durand Rotary members chipped in to make the night memorable for everyone in attendance.
The crowds of guests entered the Depot ticket lobby, where they were entertained by the Durand High School Madrigals while they waited for their turn to see Santa. Groups of children and their parents were then escorted upstairs to the Depot’s second level, where the guests were treated to story time with Bart Harris of State Farm of Durand, who can be seen reading “The Night Before Christmas” to children.
Guests also made reindeer food, had cookies, and were given a stuffed animal as part of the Depot’s annual holiday event.
