ST. MARY’S FALL FESTIVAL in Morrice began Friday, Sept. 6 and continued through Sunday, Sept. 8, including three packed days of community activities. Friday evening kicked off with a spaghetti dinner and euchre. Saturday offered a 5K run/walk, numerous activities for kids, a farmers market, parade, concessions, arts and crafts, a book sale, raffle and bingo. The annual chicken dinner was held on Sunday afternoon with a silent auction and more bingo.
The parishioners at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Main Street have been involved in putting the festival together for decades – opening the event to the public as a fun, family-friendly opportunity to enjoy the area. The church dates back to the 1890s with the original church structure located where the modern parish center is today.
Kids of all ages enjoyed multiple activities and games under the tent while younger children had fun on the train ride during the festival on Saturday.
Parishioner and volunteer, Sue Turnwald, was holding down the arts and crafts sale. Blankets, pillows, kitchen items, paintings and more were offered at the sale.
