Sponsors are being sought to support the Corunna Public Schools’ Fast 50 program, which was designed to create a weapon/drug-free environment within the school system. Corunna Schools volunteered to be a pilot for the program when it was first offered by Crime Stoppers of Mid-Michigan in 2011. Since that time, the program has been adopted by Mason, Lansing, Holt and Jackson schools.

Crime Stoppers of Mid-Michigan is accepting all contributions and will designate the donations to be used to support the Corunna Schools Fast 50 program as needed. In addition to personal donations, any business or organization that makes a $500 donation receives an advertisement as a Fast 50 sponsor on the Crime Stoppers website at www.crimestoppersofmidmichigan.com.

Donations to support the program can be dropped off during normal business hours at the Shiawassee County Sheriff’s Office on E. McArthur Street, downtown Corunna.

“Crime Stoppers of Mid-Michigan and the Corunna Public Schools would like to thank Bond Bonding Agency of Corunna, which was the initial $500 sponsor in 2011,” said a Sheriff’s Office press release.
