Josh Adams, executive director of Owosso Downtown Development Authority/Owosso Main Street said that the July 15-18 Downtown Sidewalk Sales and chalk art competition is shaping up nicely.
“Most of the artists scheduled so far are local but we have some out-of-town artists and we are expecting more,” Adams said in a July 1 telephone conversation with The Independent.
In 2014 there were 40 chalk artists on the street. Adams is expecting more this year. Artists will be on the street throughout the downtown beginning July 15 through July 18 when judging will take place.
The art competition will coincide with the annual Sidewalk Sales. Many downtown businesses are already scheduled including JC Penney, Gilbert’s, It’s A Deli Thing, Hankerd Sportswear, Abiding In The Vine, Owosso Books and More, and others.
