Nine Shiawassee County high schools will be represented at the regional level of the MHSAA wrestling postseason tournament this year. While consistent state challengers New Lothrop and Corunna are again well-represented, every competing Shiawassee County school will have a horse in the race this Saturday, Feb. 20 at regionals.
Division 2: Competed at Gaylord Saturday, Feb. 13 and will wrestle at Imlay City Saturday, Feb. 20. The top four wrestlers from each weight class advanced to regionals.
Owosso:
- Jacob Fisher – second place at 130 pounds
- Emilo Campos – third at 112 pounds
- Nathan Matiutza – fourth at 103 pounds
- Britton Spencer – fourth at 135 pounds
- Nic Bignell – fourth at 160 pounds
- Louden Newbury – fourth at 189 pounds
Division 3: Competed at Portland Saturday, Feb. 13 and will wrestle at Williamston Saturday, Feb. 20.
Corunna:
- David Dumond – first place at 160 pounds
- Tristan Serbus – second at 119 pounds
- Taylor Jackson – second at 171 pounds
- Trevor Briggs – third at 119 pounds
- Luke Cortez – third at 215 pounds
- Jerry Yelinek – fourth at 160 pounds
- Sky Griffith – fourth at 189 pounds
- Brandon Blair – fourth at 285 pounds
Chesaning:
- Trevor Patterson – second place at 160 pounds
- Jacob Wright – second at 189 pounds
- Kolin McAlpine – third at 135 pounds
- Kegan McAlpine – third at 140 pounds
- Dawson Giesken – fourth at 103 pounds
Perry:
- Anthony Gallagher – first place at 103 pounds
- Jacob Spies – first at 112 pounds
- Mike Gramza – first at 215 pounds
- Ethan Orweller – fourth at 152 pounds
Byron:
- Jerry Hall – first place at 152 pounds
- Keiffer Kennedy – third at 189 pounds
- Aaron Kelley – third at 285 pounds
Durand:
- Gus Richter – fourth place at 119 pounds
Ovid-Elsie:
- Zachary Morris – first place at 189 pounds
Division 4: New Lothrop competed at Mayville Saturday, Feb. 13 and Laingsburg competed at Manchester the same day. Both will wrestle in New Lothrop for regionals on Saturday, Feb. 20.
