A Shiawassee County man was arrested recently in Indiana on a felony warrant for absconding from parole and failing to register his address with law enforcement. The man identified as Adam Gord Garza, age 47, from Owosso was arrested by Michigan State Police troopers after being stopped for a traffic violation in Steuben County, Indiana.

Shiawassee County Prosecuting Attorney Deana Finnegan has authorized the man’s extradition back to Michigan where he will be arraigned. The parole warrant was issued out of the 35th District Court in Corunna.

A press release issued by the Michigan State Police states the man was previously convicted in 1997 for second-degree criminal sexual conduct involving a person under 13 years of age. He is a tier three offender, which means he was required to register quarterly in Shiawassee County. The press release also notes that the man was on the Michigan State Police’s Most Wanted Sex Offender list.
