The Shiawassee County Bar Association’s Ninth Annual Free Legal Consultation Fair will be held on Monday, May 1 from 8 to 11:30 a.m. at the historical Shiawassee County Circuit Courthouse. Local Attorneys will be providing free 15-Minute legal consultations in honor of Law Day, on the main floor of the courthouse. Legal questions will be answered free and consultations are offered on a first-come, first-serve basis.

President Dwight Eisenhower established the first Law Day in 1958 to mark the nation’s commitment to the rule of the law. In 1961, Congress issued a joint resolution designating May 1 as the office date for celebrating the event. Every President since has issued a Law Day proclamation each May 1.

The Bar Association wishes to thank the following attorneys for donating their time for free consultations: Bob Ashley, Lynne Bowne, Richard Bulingame, Barb Dawes, Rob Ellis, Scott Gould, Pat Marutiak, Patricia Mcavoy, Jennifer Peplinski, Curt Zaleski, Christina Walsh, and Sarah Bouck.
