SENIOR CITIZEN KING Jim Shaw has lived in the Perry-area for 50 years. He and his wife of 52-years, Deanna, have two sons and six grandchildren, three boys and three girls.
Shaw, a Korean War veteran, served in the U.S. Army from 1967 to 1969. He is a strong supporter of the Morrice Community Senior Center and its exercise program held every Tuesday and Thursday. He also serves as a city representative with the Shiawassee Council on Aging Board of Directors. Since 1996, Shaw has been a member of the Shaftsburg Community Bible Church, where Deanna serves as pastor.
Senior Citizen King Shaw’s favorite spare time activity is fishing. He enjoys people and his community, and he also appreciates the local government and services they provide. “Perry is a great place to live,” he said.
Shaw was accompanied in the 2019 PerryFest Parade by Senior Citizen Queen Carol Nama and chauffeured in a vehicle provided by Signature Ford of Perry.
