LAVEARN G. WENZLICK has announced his retirement from the Shiawassee Community Foundation Board of Directors after an impressive 11-year tenure. Wenzlick served as treasurer for 10 years, and his considerable financial talent was a great asset to the foundation.

“It’s been a pleasure to serve on the board these past 11 years. The foundation has grown considerably, and it has been nice to be a part of that and to help the community,” Wenzlick said. Vearn has over 40 years of experience as a CPA, and he is one of two principals in the Owosso office of Andrews Hooper Pavlik, formerly Demis & Wenzlick, P.C. Vearn plans to enjoy his new schedule by traveling, hunting, and spending more time with his family.

Vearn’s son, Bruce J. Wenzlick, joined the foundation’s board of directors in January of 2017. Bruce is also a CPA and is the senior manager at Andrews Hooper Pavlik, specializing in income tax planning and preparation. Bruce was recently appointed as treasurer of the foundation, and the board is pleased that he accepted this position to share his expertise.

The board and staff of the foundation would like to thank Vearn (right) for sharing his time and talent during his many years of service. He will be greatly missed; however, board and staff members all wish him the best in his retirement. They all look forward to working with Bruce in the future, and they are confident in his ability to serve as an exemplary board member and treasurer.
